First Sight: Before the Path Opens

🖤 Not Everything Starts with Magic|

Sometimes it starts with grief. With tension. With silence between two people who used to be close.

First Sight is the first volume in The Twelvefold Path, but it doesn’t open with spells or stars. It opens with emotion.

This is the human part—the grounding, the ache, the resistance to becoming.

No cosmic awakenings. Just choices, consequences, and a quiet feeling that something has to change.

Some people leave, and that’s it.

Others leave and take a part of you with them.

Miié will be losing someone close to her. And nothing feels real anymore.

The woman who raised her, grounded her, knew her before the world tried to change her—she’s slipping away. And with her, so is the version of Miié that felt safe.

First Sight isn’t a story about happily-ever-after. It’s about the people we run from when we’re hurting. And the ones who quietly wait for us to come back.

💭 At the Center of It All: Grief

Miié doesn’t know how to talk about what’s happening. So she doesn’t.

She shows up in the ways that she knows how to. Getting involved in the things that she is passionate about is how coping looks for her, and she's giving it her all.

Grief isn’t loud in this story—it’s heavy. It hangs between moments and becomes her only defense.
